Deleting your PingDit account

PingDit has no sign-up: no name, email address or phone number. Your account is a random ID that the app creates the first time you open it.

If you have the app

Open PingDit, go to Settings, and choose Delete my account and all data. This immediately deletes from our server:

It also removes your account details and your partner's nickname from your phone. Your partner keeps their own account, and their app shows that you are no longer paired.

If the app cannot reach our server, nothing is deleted yet. The app keeps your account so that you can try again once you are online.

If you no longer have the app

Uninstalling PingDit does not delete anything from our server. Instead, an account the app has not contacted for six months is deleted automatically, with everything listed above, and the partner is unpaired.

Because there is no sign-up, we cannot find your account from an email. If you still have PingDit on any device, deleting from the app is the quickest way.

What is kept, and for how long

Nothing is kept after deletion. While an account exists, ping records are deleted after about seven days. See the privacy policy for everything PingDit stores.
